The examination for Computer Operator is conducted in two phases:
- Phase – 1
- Written Examination
- Phase – 2
- Practical Examination
- Interview
Written Examination For Computer Operator Syllabus
The written examination is divided into first and second papers, each worth 100 marks, for a total of 200 marks. The examinations are conducted separately on the same day. The medium language of the written examination paper will be either Nepali or English, depending on the language in which the course content is given. However, both languages can be used when the content needs to be clarified.
The first paper comprises of objective multiple-choice questions from two subjects:
- General Awareness and Public Management
- Job Based Knowledge
The General Awareness and Public Management subject consists of 20 questions, each worth two marks, totaling 40 marks. The Job-Based Knowledge subject will consist of 30 questions, each worth two marks, totaling 60 marks.
Both subjects combine for 50 questions worth 100 marks. To pass this 45-minute exam, an examinee should achieve at least 40 marks. TO Pass Computer Operator Syllabus
In the objective multiple-choice exam, the examinee should write the answer in English capital letters: A, B, C, D. If small letters are written: a, b, c, d, or any other indication, all the answer sheets will be canceled.
In the objective multiple-choice question, incorrect answers receive a 20% negative mark, and marks for unanswered questions are neither awarded nor deducted. Using a calculator is not permitted during the objective multiple-choice question examination.

The second written examination paper will consist of subjective questions about Job-Based Knowledge. It consists of 12 short answer questions (60 Marks) and 4 long answer questions (40 Marks), for 16 questions worth 100 Marks.

For subjective questions, a single long question or a long question with two or more parts or short notes under a single question may be asked.
Each section of the subjective papers will have separate answer sheets, and the examinee must write the answers in the answer book of the same section.
Practical Examination (50 Marks)
The practical examination for Senior Press Technician is worth 50 full marks. The examinee must achieve at least 25 marks to pass this one-hour exam.
Interview (30 Marks)
Candidates who pass the written examination will proceed to the second phase, which is the interview worth 30 marks.

Eligibility
Academic Qualification
1. For Computer Operator, Miscellaneous: Applicant should have passed Proficiency Certificate/ Diploma level or equivalent in Computer Science from a recognized educational institution.
OR
Passed Proficiency Certificate/Diploma level or equivalent from a recognized educational institution and received at least 6 months of computer training from a registered institution.
OR
Passed Proficiency Certificate/ Diploma level or equivalent from a recognized educational institution and received a 6-month computer training program for Skilled Manpower conducted by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
2. For Federal Parliament, Information Technology, Computer Operator Position
The applicant must have passed 10+2 in Computer Science from a recognized institution or passed 10+2 and received at least 5 months of computer training from a registered institution.
Age Limit
Candidates must be at least 18 and not over 35 years old. The maximum age limit for women and people with disability is 40 years.
There is no age limit for permanent staff of the Government of Nepal currently in service.
Syllabus
Notwithstanding anything written in this syllabus, any amendments made to the laws, acts, rules, regulations, and policies included in the syllabus three months before the exam date will be considered part of this syllabus.
The courses implemented before the course effective date do not apply to the examination.
